Flashing beacons can help increase safety, improve walkability, and get drivers’ attention in a flash. In addition to discussing rectangular rapid flashing beacons (RRFBs) for mid-block crosswalks, we can also answer questions about our school zone flashing beacons for school zone warning signs and 24-hour flashing beacons for warning and stop signs.

The Institute for Transportation Engineers (ITE) is an international organization with over 15,000 members in 90-plus countries that leads the way in improving mobility and safety for all transportation system users. Carmanah Traffic is a member of ITE and a strong supporter of smart, livable communities.

The Missouri Valley Section of the Institute for Transportation Engineers, known as MOVITE, has over 600 members today from across Arkansas, Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska, and Oklahoma. Since 1951—when MOVITE was chartered with just eight members—the society has strived to bring transportation professionals together to advance their knowledge and skills.

The 2018 Spring MOVITE Meeting will be held in downtown Omaha, Nebraska.
